Website development

Everything you need to know about how we plan, build and launch websites, from our choice of platform to what happens after your site goes live.

Documentation

Our development process

Every project runs through four phases.

  • Planning and kick-off sets expectations and scope
  • Focused development happens in a staging environment, with your feedback built in as we go
  • Review and evaluation checks the result against expectations
  • Migration to production then puts the site live on Stangerup Cloud or a host of your choice

Why we build on WordPress

WordPress powers over 40% of the web. It is open source, so there are no license fees, and you are never locked to one provider. A huge plugin ecosystem means almost any feature can be added later, and the core is actively patched with regular security updates. In addition, we value its user-friendliness, making things easier for clients maintaining their sites in the future.

What to prepare before kick-off

Your logo and brand assets (colors, fonts), page texts, images, and access to your domain. A few examples of websites you like helps too. Missing something? We will help you identify gaps during kick-off.

Staging and previews

Your website is built in a private staging environment on Stangerup Cloud where you can follow progress and give feedback throughout development.

  • Nothing goes public until you have approved it

Editing your content

WordPress lets you update texts and images and publish blog posts without touching code. We include a walkthrough at launch so you know your way around.

Search engine foundations

Every site is built with proper semantic markup, fast load times and mobile-first layouts. These are the foundations that search engines and AI-powered search rely on. Ongoing SEO work such as keyword research and content strategy is not included.

Security standards

All websites run strictly over HTTPS. Security audits are available on request, and hosting on Stangerup Cloud adds automatic backups and monitoring on top.

Frequently asked

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope. A typical small business website takes 3-4 weeks from kick-off to launch. The biggest factor is usually how quickly content and feedback come back, so having texts and images ready early speeds things up considerably.

Do I have to host with Stangerup Cloud?

No. Hosting with Stangerup Cloud is the most seamless option, since staging and production live on the same platform. If you prefer another provider, we migrate your website there with a proper setup.

Can you develop more features later?

Most likely, yes. Our websites are built to be extended, so new functionality like booking, webshop or integrations can be added without starting over.

  • We reserve the right to decline a request due to scope creep

Can you take over or redesign an existing website?

Yes. We start with a review of your current site and recommend whether to improve it or rebuild.

Cloud hosting

Practical information about Stangerup Cloud such as where your website lives, how it is protected, and how to manage it day to day.

Documentation

Managing your hosting in the console

Every administrative action is handled in the console at console.stangerup.cloud. From there you manage your websites, domains and staging environments, and you can install apps with the integrated app manager. Monitoring and maintenance are handled by us.

Shared and dedicated estates

A shared estate places your website on a server with other tenants. We actively prevent overpopulation, but full compute isn’t guaranteed at all times. It starts from 1 website and 1 staging domain.

A dedicated estate gives you a node solely for your websites, with unlimited sites and staging domains. It is ideal for busy WooCommerce stores and other demanding projects.

Data location and compliance

Stangerup Cloud runs on Hetzner infrastructure in DIN ISO/IEC 27001-certified data centers powered by 100% green electricity. Your data stays within the EU and is handled in compliance with GDPR.

Backups and restores

Your websites and emails are backed up automatically every 12 hours. You can roll back to an earlier version at any time without risking data loss. Backups are retained for 14 days.

Email and webmail

Email accounts tied to your domains are available in the webmail client at webmail.stangerup.cloud. You can also connect them to Outlook, Apple Mail or your phone using IMAP/SMTP.

Supported applications and technology

The app manager installs WordPress, WooCommerce, Joomla, and OpenClaw. Under the hood we run LiteSpeed Web Server, MariaDB, Redis, Node.js and PostgreSQL.

Traffic and fair use

Traffic is unlimited for normal business and personal use.

  • Usage significantly above 10 TB per month may be considered excessive

System status and incidents

Real-time incident monitoring is available.

If your setup needs more discussion, we can schedule a free 30-minute call. Existing sites are moved with our website importer, or you can deploy a fresh install in a few clicks.

Is SSL included?

Yes. Free SSL certificates are issued and renewed automatically for all domains.

Do you offer an SLA?

Not at this time. An SLA would add overhead and require significantly higher prices. We aim for the highest possible availability, and you can follow uptime on our status page.

Connecting your accounts

You connect each account by logging in to the platform itself and granting access. You never share your password with us, and you can revoke access at any time.

Scheduling, calendar, and queues

Plan posts weeks ahead with full timezone support. The content calendar shows everything at a glance, and you can drag posts to reschedule. Queues let you fill recurring time slots that publish automatically.

Bulk scheduling with CSV

Upload hundreds of posts at once from a CSV file. This is also reachable from the API.

Frequently asked

How is this better than managing channels manually?

Instead of logging in to each network separately, you plan, publish and analyse everything from one calendar. Work that normally takes a team weeks can be done in hours, and nothing gets lost between channels.

  • Connections are automatically refreshed too

Which underlying infrastructure do you use?

We use Zernio. They are some of the best and have built a rocksolid API on top.

Can I reply to comments and DMs from the platform?

Not currently. We are working on expanding our license. Until then, comments and direct messages are still handled in each social network’s own app.

Workflow automation

How we build and run automations for your business; what can be automated, how you keep an eye on it, and where AI fits in.

Documentation

What you can automate

Almost any repetitive task across your website and tools. Typical examples are sending form submissions and leads to your CRM, notifying your team about new WooCommerce orders, syncing data between systems and spreadsheets, and connecting to external APIs.

Fully managed workflows

We build, manage and maintain workflows for you. If an integrated service changes its API or a process needs adjusting, we handle the update, and you do not need any technical knowledge.

Your workflow workspace

You have access to your own workspace, where you can view the status and full log history of every workflow at any time.

  • Workspaces are isolated from other clients

Platform capabilities

Conditional logic, branches, loops, API calls, and Human-in-the-Loop steps, so even complex processes with exceptions can be automated.

AI in your workflows

If requested, we can combine rule-based steps, which are predictable and reliable, with AI steps for tasks that need judgment, such as sorting inquiries, summarizing text or drafting replies. Both run in the same workflow.

Human-in-the-Loop

A workflow can pause for a person to approve or adjust something before it continues. One example is reviewing an AI-drafted email before it is sent.

Integrations

Thousands of services are supported out of the box, along with deep WordPress integration. If a tool has an API, we can usually connect to it.

Frequently asked

Which underlying infrastructure do you use?

We use OttoKit due to its focus on WordPress specifically.

What happens if a workflow fails?

Failed runs are logged and we are alerted automatically. Most issues are resolved before you notice them.
